Litter Picks
Our team of locals and volunteers join together to make our neighbourhood a cleaner, greener place!
At our last litter pick we had the most volunteers & the most bags collected EVER at any of our litter picks!
We collected 34 bags of rubbish - Over 30 amazing volunteers came! Lots of happy faces at the end enjoying tasty cobs and pastries haha!
Thank you everyone for coming!!
Our next litter pick will be in Autumn - the 12th of October! Keep an eye out on Facebook for any updates!
Too Good To Waste Pop-up Shops:
A core part of our Foodshare Scheme is to make food go further! As you may know, we run a variety of food-related services which rely on surplus donations from large supermarkets. This food would have been thrown in the bin! Instead, we use this food (still good to eat!) for The Social Supermarket, Emergency Food Parcels, The Chatty Cafe & Youth Community Fridge. If we still have excess food, it goes to our Too good to waste Pop-up Shop for just £1!
We have been fortunate enough to be able to run a few different pop-up shops in the past few months, which reduces food waste after The Social Supermarket closes on a Thursday. The food we get donated is surplus already, and sometimes have short dates. To reduce the food waste, we offer 'as much as you like for £1' via our Pop-up shop on available Fridays

Other Pop Up Shops/Carboot Sales:
Amongst the latest in our themed Pop up Shops, we recently hosted a new ‘Little One’s Pop-up Shop’. As many of you know, we receive lots of surplus donations that would otherwise go to landfill. In the instances where we are fortunate enough to have an abundance of baby & children’s products such as clothing, accessories, toys etc., we host our pop up stall at The Social Action Hub where brand new products are yours for the taking for charity shop prices or a donation of your choosing (depending on the event).
To find out when our next pop-up shop will be, join our Team Foodshare Facebook Group for updates :)
Markets:
Our last market was our Summer Family Fiesta on the 28th of June 2025, where we held invited local businesses and stalls to sell products perfect for Summer and held many Revive raffles. We also had a stall showcasing our Revive Products from our Charity Shop! These are products that are saved from going to landfill and are as cheap as chips, and less than half of their retail price.
Our young volunteers led the event to raise funds for the OB Project (click here to read more about this project) where they ran their own stalls such as: Face painting, nail painting, glitter cheeks, raffles, lucky dip & other games.
The young people worked extremely hard in planning, preparing and running this event, ages ranging fro 12yrs old - 16yrs old. We had around 15 young volunteers attend and help out at the event.
We raised around £200 for the OB Project! Thank you to our amazing community for supporting the event & the amazing project.
Updates:
In July, we joined St Judes & St Simon's Church on their family fundraiser day and did some face painting, glitter & a silent disco! We had a great morning with them, speaking to the community and spreading the word about The Social Action Hub!
