What's Been Happening?

Halloween Playshceme

Lots of children enjoyed a full two weeks of Halloween and Bonfire sessions during October half term! We dressed up, danced, and created an abundance of crafts and played lots of games. See below some pictures of just a small fraction of the sessions we provided.

Halloween Forest School

Forest School during Halloween half term. We carved pumpkins, made pumpkin bird feeders, had hot chocolates, did a spooky scavenger hunt, asked each other some truth or scares & much more!

During the bonfire night session, we tried some mushy peas & mint sauce, lit sparklers, had a go at lighting fires with a flint & steel, played some games on the field, and created our own comets that we raced through the sky!

Thank you all for coming!

Christmas Hampers

This past Christmas, we were on a mission to make a difference in the lives of those in need through The Beacon Project and The Rope Project. These two incredible charities focus on supporting individuals affected by homelessness and those fleeing domestic violence.

By partnering with these charities, we aimed to ensure that our resources directly reached those who needed it the most. This holiday season, we came together to bring warmth and joy to those facing challenging circumstances.

We collected donations to create special Christmas Goodie Bags. Your support helped us provide essential items and a touch of holiday magic to those who may not have had the means to celebrate.

A heartfelt appreciation goes out to each and every person who generously contributed and played a role in making a positive impact!

Chad Awards

On Thursday 30th November 2023 The Social Action Hub attended the Chad Business Excellence Awards 2023 and we WON the Sustainability Award!!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us & congratulations to all the wonderful nominees & category winners

We had a great night!

Thank You!

Of course, all of this wouldn't be possible without our supporters!

Thanks to our volunteers, local stores, donors, and Fareshare, we are meeting our aim of preventing food waste from going to landfill.

Thank you to our beneficiaries, funders & donors, and volunteers for keeping our services running and making it possible to set up new projects for the community. We are forever grateful for your consistent support, you are truly heroes!

Chill Out Room

Over the last few months, our new chill-out Room has been completed and is now open.

During Youth Club, this space is used as a wind-down, mindfulness space where children and young adults can go and take some time to improve their mental health.

This new space we have to offer is a warm and inviting environment, perfect for our counsellor Paul to run his sessions with his clients.

This space is perfect for hot desking, 1-1 support meetings, and more. Please see below for information regarding room hire.

Cooking On a Budget

From November 2023, ATTFE has been running a free cooking course here at The Social Action Hub. This course was to encourage new skills and recipe ideas to cook low-cost, healthy, tasty meals. These sessions have varied in flavour! Ranging from Sweet Potato Mince pies to Cajun Chicken Pasta to Chocolate Yule Logs!

All recipes have been delicious and have included affordable ingredients.

Thank you to Steph from ATTFE for teaching us the good stuff!

Counselling Sessions

The Social Action Hub is offering FREE counselling sessions on Thursday evenings & Saturday mornings delivered by Paul Ainger.

Anyone can refer, our main focus is on targeting men’s mental health, however, everyone is welcome to book for counselling sessions.

Often counselling can give you the space to safely explore confusion, pain, anger, and sadness and connect to the powerful feelings that can arise following abuse, oppression, trauma or bereavement. Or it can simply help you get to know yourself better. It’s all about finding the right therapeutic relationship that helps you feel safe enough to explore yourself and your world.

Would you like a check-in with a qualified counsellor?
