Our Mission:
The Social Action Hub's mission is to bring people together by organising social action projects and delivering services that make a difference to our local community. We meet the needs of the local community and provide a wide range of services to vulnerable adults, families and children.

The Social Action Hub's vision is to create and inspire community action that addresses social concerns of our time within our local communities and supports the development of these activities in three ways:

Providing facilities and services that empower & support individuals of all ages to learn, develop, grow and contribute to society

Addressing social and environmental issues that affect our communities through targeted projects and services that meet needs

Fundraising and partnership working with local good causes to make a bigger impact

The charity was formed in 1993, in response the social and economic issues that arose after the closing of local pits, originally providing detached youth work. We have grown into a thriving community hub offering a diverse range of projects and services.

Youth Club
We provide weekly youth clubs for ages 5 -19 in Rainworth and Blidworth.
Playscheme
We provide daily playscheme sessions for ages 5 -12 during school holidays.
Tree House
We provide 121 support and counselling for young people struggling with mental health.

C- Card
We provide a range of sexual health & relationship support, including the provision of condoms.
Free Meals
We provide free meals, where funding is available for young people during holidays.
​
Emergency Food
We provide emergency food parcels to local residents via referrals from professional bodies.

TEAM FOODSHARE
PREVENTING FOOD POVERTY, TACKLING FOOD WASTE
The Social Action Hub is the largest food poverty and food waste project in North Nottinghamshire.
Surplus food is donated by the Co-op, Fareshare, Neighbourly, Tesco, Asda, Greggs, Aldi, Lidl, Pets At Home, small local retailers and local individuals.

Our amazing team of over 20 volunteers collect and distribute that food from over 70 store pick ups per week to vulnerable and isolated individuals living in Rainworth, Blidworth and surrounding areas.
​
We also make sure that nothing is wasted by making sure that fresh bread, vegetables and fruit that is past its best goes to local farms, allotments and animal shelters.
We have provided over 30,000 meals in the form of food parcels to local people.

In 2022 we launched the countries first Youth Community Fridge for under 25's to access free food and a worm space.
